Look into the sky and see the dancing horses in the clouds, and the rainbows that touch the mountain tops. Susan is a retired educator, artist and photographer from the Foothills of Alberta. She believes the western landscape and its wildlife is what sustains us but also feeds our souls. Her passion for mountain adventure and a love of wildlife has taken her from the Alaskan Range to the Pyrenees Mountains - often on horseback. She believes art and photography capture a moment in time that can live in our imaginations forever. Her work is inspired by nature, who teaches us everything about color, light and form. She uses bold colours in the southwest tradition called representational realism, using a variety of mediums. Through her work she wishes to encourage others to value and protect our natural world for future generations. Her mantra is from Horace: "A picture is a poem without words." Susan’s Photography has been awarded by the Calgary Stampede Int'l Photography Competition, published in the Globe and Mail, and shortlisted for the World Photographic Cup 2026. She is a member of Route 22 Gallery, The Common Works, and the Leighton Art Centre, Alberta. *Custom images available on canvas, acrylic, metal and fine art papers. All photographic prints are original, and in limited editions of 250. High quality archival inks are used.
